Belinda Wheaton and I were so pleased to talk with Professor Brett Hutchins on The Media Sport Podcast about the recent special issue we edited on ‘Bluespaces, sport and the sea’. We’re always excited to hear the questions our work raises, and Brett is an incisive reader, so we were so pleased to be part of this series of conversations.

Brett is a Professor in the School of Media, Film & Journalism at Monash University, in Australia. His questions were very welcome as his own work is about sport as a communications platform for environmental and sustainability issues and activism. You can read more about Brett’s work in this area here.
The Media Sport Podcast is a well-established treasure trove of sport and sport media scholarship and it’s very well worth taking a look through the podcast archive.
The Media Sport Podcast Series features interviews with researchers from around the world about the significance of sport in media, politics, society and culture, as well as the growing role of sport in the popular communication of environmental issues and concerns.
